4/3/2023 0 Comments Dark woods circus rin and len![]() ![]() The rest of the song is either saying that the circus is fun or that they want to die, which sends conflicting messages and creates a perfect atmosphere for the song.Personality: In a word, controlling. Most of them had many flower marks on their body and one even showed an eye being coveres by flowers, which I assume that the character (most prob Miku) was blinded. In the PV, most characters had flower marks on their bodies, which I think implies their wounds. So anyways, sorry I sidetracked a little. Some victims were even forced to marry their rapists, in order to save some dignity and sadly, is still happening in some countries. Most offenders were not caught at all, and those who were caught received only minimal punishment. Sexual abuse was a minor case no one quite cares about in the Middle Ages. By rotten fruit, I quickly assume it as sexual abuse. You know things get sexual when there is mention of fruit. "A blue beast that loves to eat things cold"Īt first I thought it was just about a beast who likes their food cold, but now I realized- dead bodies after rigor mortis sets in are referred to as "cold". This is acceptable I guess, as there are hints throughout the song they were not born with these deformities but rather mutilated. For what I do not know but I believe I have read somewhere that the word is "MISEMONO" which means "fake". In the song, when introducing Rin and Len, a word was censored. Here is my own interpretation of the song. Now that I have, woah it's like listening to a whole new song again. At first I thought it was just a plain creepy song and didn't pay attention to most of the allegory and symbolism there. This is one of the very first Vocaloid song I listened to. So anyways, here are my thoughts on this song Ah well I suppose they're keeping it child-friendly Note- Wtf Wikipedia, last time I looked, details on "inhumane" circuses existed. There is little proof of this, but it is true that in the Middle Ages in Europe and Asia, such circuses did exist, though the details on it are unclear. There were "rumors" of extremely vicious circuses in the "Edo Period" of Japan, where (apparently) children were mutilated and raped. Before that, they were just wandering bands of jesters and oddities who were sometimes treated inhumanely. The most famous example of a "circus" would be the Colisseum of Rome, though some don't consider it as a circus.Ĭircuses were greatly improved and legalized by the 18th century, where inhumane acts and displays were removed and they were made "family-friendly". Now before we start on my thoughts, let me tell you more about Circuses.Ī circus literally means a "ring" The oldest recorded circus was the "Circus Maximus" of Rome, where there were horse and chariot races, staged battles, gladiatorial combat and displays and fights with trained animals, as well as displays of exotic slaves, primarily women, who were abused for pleasure of the crowds. They faced mental, physical and sexual abuse for pleasure of the crowd (I'll get back to this later) At the end of the song, it appears YM was also abducted and mutilated. It appears that they weren't born with these defects, but the ringmaster mutilated them. They talk about how they have to pretend to be happy, even though they hate this place. The circus contains Miku, a girl with wonderful voice but with goat legs and facial scars, Rin and Len, Siamese twins with attached bodies, and Kaito, a "human with dog's brains". YM appears to be an orphan and was fascinated by the circus. The story starts with a circus visiting young Meiko's (henceforth YM) hometown. Dark Woods Circus is a series of 5 songs and "Dark Woods Circus" is the 2nd song in the series and the most popular one (I'll only be talking abt this one) It is about a freak circus show, with Miku as a "deformed diva", Rin and Len as "Siamese Twins" and Kaito as a "Werewolf", and Neru and Haku as giants. ![]()
