I know things are different in a city building / management game like T6. In games like AoE4, we usually try to build a city as quickly as possible before the battle. I am looking for some beginners tips in building a Tropico 6 city. Having nothing much to do, I saved and quit the game. Then all of a sudden the account was in negative. And I got to world war era with almost no money. But as I have no army to war (don't know exactly how to build a decent one), paying money was the only way to do it. Somehow I did enough to get to where I could declare independence from crown. Despite building lots of plantations, I can't make enough by exporting to keep it break even. Then finance started getting out of control. I placed another and somehow they were defeated. I built a watchtower and they destroyed that too. There were pirate attacks which weren't even mentioned in the tutorials. It started ok, but later I felt things started to get a lot more complex. Before starting the campaigns, I decided to try a sandbox game on normal settings. They were easy enough and finished pretty quickly. I decided to give a try and started with tutorials. I played one of the older Tropicos several years back on a friend's PC for a couple of hours, but don't remember anything about. Then I found Tropico 6 on Microsoft Xbox Pass. Last week I finished AoE4 campaigns and was looking for something new, especially strategy/city building. So that's my experience with gaming in brief. I have played simcity 3000 & simcity4 a little as well. I love strategy games and AoE series were the first games I have ever played and got me into gaming. I play a variety of genres of games, finishing CP2077 twice, Witcher 3, RDR2 and AoE4 campaigns and some unfinished gaming runs like FO4 & Skyrim during the past 1 year. ![]() I am a single player, PC only, casual gamer. ![]()
